Welcome to the team, Charis!

Time to meet the newest member of the Herts Ability family, Occupational Therapist Charis! Here’s her story so far, in her own words…

Hello everyone, my name is Charis, and I come all the way from Hong Kong!

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at Curtin University in Australia in 2021.

I am passionate about various activities like driving, hiking, swimming, snorkelling, and cooking. I’m always on the lookout for new adventures and I love to keep myself engaged and active.

I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to join the incredible HA (Herts Ability) family as an Occupational Therapist Assessor.

It’s a role that I find incredibly fulfilling!

Personally, I truly enjoy the experience of driving as it provides me with a sense of independence and joy.

I can only imagine how challenging it must be for individuals who are unable to drive due to their medical conditions.

In my role, I conduct assessments with Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) for individuals with various medical conditions and provide recommendations for suitable adaptations if needed.

I believe this role is profoundly meaningful as we can support our clients in their journey to regain their independence in driving.

Even in situations where we have to deliver bad news to clients, our primary focus remains on ensuring their safety, as well as the safety of other road users. This is also essential for their loved ones who deeply care about them.

From the moment I joined the team, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and support shown by everyone.

Whenever I am uncertain or have questions, I know that I can always rely on my amazing teammates who are more than willing to lend a helping hand.

Together, we create a supportive environment where collaboration and growth thrive!

I am incredibly grateful to be a part of this remarkable team and look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of our clients.

Thank you all for your warm welcome and support!
