Job Purpose
Herts Ability is a charity, based in Welwyn Garden City, accredited to the national organisation Driving Mobility. Its passion is supporting people’s independence – through driving, travel and transport.
As part of this remit, the Herts Ability driving school delivers tuition to people with physical and hidden disabilities to help them gain, regain or retain their independence.
The driving school is thriving and needs to expand to provide driving tuition to more learners and full licence holders with disabilities, medical conditions, neurodiversity or learning difficulties.
You will help students learn the skills necessary to become or remain safe and responsible drivers. This includes giving advice on driving ability, vehicle adaptations, and in some cases ceasing driving. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will need an open mind when it comes to driving instruction, to be passionate about road safety, and be someone who wants to make a difference.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to provide driving tuition to learners and full licence holders who have attended an assessment of their driving ability. You will deliver tuition in a range of manual, automatic and adapted vehicles. In addition, you will also provide tuition to students who need support with the theory test.

You will be required to provide advice to staff and clients regarding driving requirements, licensing and legislation, as well as engaging in other activities concerning driving safety, vehicle management, professional training and networking.
Comprehensive training will be given.
