George’s Journey with Herts Ability
When George and his family sought driving support, they turned to Herts Ability. Following a quick assessment, George joined our driving school and theory test workshop under the guidance of our Lead Assessor, James. Thanks to a generous grant from the Department for Transport, George received six hours of fully funded, one-on-one support tailored to his needs.

Overcoming Challenges and Building Confidence
Before coming to Herts Ability, George was confident in his driving but struggled with the pressure of taking tests. His initial assessment was conducted at our Hatfield driving site with an Occupational Therapist and a Specialist Approved Driving Instructor. They evaluated his driving skills, discussed his knowledge gaps, and identified areas for improvement.
Though George was initially nervous, our team’s approach helped him feel at ease. The sessions were not only educational but also enjoyable. George appreciated the patient, supportive manner of our assessors, Jane and Simon, who helped boost his confidence through practical exercises, like emergency stops.
