We are proud to announce that our client Joy Colley – who came all the way from Hampshire! – is now ‘Fit to Drive’ after successfully completing her driving assessment at our Welwyn Centre!
Here’s Joy’s journey towards independence, in her own words ⤵️
🗣 “I have always loved to drive, but have been unable to – due to a variety of medical conditions – since October 2021. There are a lot of problems at the moment out of my control, so to be able to take control and pass this assessment… I have at least got my freedom back!
🚘 The assessment 🚘
🗣 My assessors – Matt and Jane – really put me at ease, as I was very nervous and really wanted to pass! Indeed, they kept telling me not to worry and to just enjoy the drive. They talked to me and I relaxed more and more and in the end I really did enjoy the drive, so thank you Matt and Jane!
🗣 In May 2022 I came to Herts Ability to find out which vehicle adaptations I needed. I met Matt and Jane for the first time and they looked after all my needs and we decided that push and pull hand controls would be the best method of adaptation.
🗣 Be brave and go for it! Yes, you will feel a little nervous, but the lovely professionals at Herts Ability will always be patient and offer you all the encouragement you need! Remember, there’s so much to look forward to when you are able to drive again! Take back control and enjoy your freedom on the road again!
Did you know?
Herts Ability has a fleet of dual controlled vehicles with a range of driving and transfer adaptations!
Every vehicle is fitted with dual controls for safety and insurance purposes and all assessments take place in a dual controlled car.
A client can use their own (or an instructor’s vehicle) if it is fitted with dual controls. As always Herts Ability is happy to help with any request you have. Our aim is to help YOU get back on the road!
