We’re thrilled with our new home in Welwyn Garden City – it perfectly suits our needs, allowing us to continue supporting independence for older people and those with disabilities. Almost everything is in place, but there’s one vital component missing – an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Did you know? There are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests annually in the UK, with less than 10% survival? Immediate CPR and defibrillation can more than double the chances of survival, yet public access defibrillators are used in less than 10% of cases.
🚑 We want to change that! With an AED on-site, we can be confident in providing assistance during a medical emergency for our clients, staff, and the wider community.
Here’s three ways you can help! ⤵️
1️⃣ Join us in May for the return of the famous Herts Ability quiz night! A night of laughter, good food, and maybe a small drink! Gather your team for a fun-filled evening. Stay tuned to our social media channels for more details!
2️⃣ We’re seeking the support of AED suppliers to help fund, install, and maintain the equipment. If you know any willing suppliers, please put us in touch!
3️⃣ As a charity, we gratefully accept donations – especially towards something that could benefit the entire community.
Let’s make a life-saving difference together! 🌟 Your support means the world to us and those we serve!
