A diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis can be a relief for many people, explaining very long-standing symptoms. The diagnosis can also raise many new questions. One question often asked is, “Can I still drive and be independent”?

In many cases, the answer is “YES! You can”. Herts Ability can support you every step of the way!

Firstly, you must inform the DVLA of your diagnosis. Herts Ability can help you do that!

A driving assessment is a really good idea. This will identify the need for any special controls or adaptations to your car. It could be that your method of driving just needs a simple tweak to counter your symptoms.

Once you’ve found the right method of car control, you’ll likely need some training to become confident and competent.

The expert Approved Driving Instructors from the Herts Ability Driving School will help you with that. They all have a good understanding of MS and will cater to your individual needs.

Here’s what our recent client Paul Simmonds had to say:

“Go for it! Get assessed and book some time with the team at Herts Ability. If all goes well, take some lessons to get used to whatever system suits you! I would definitely recommend Herts Ability to others – it’s the attitude and personality of the people, it puts you at ease!”

Herts Ability will always be on hand to support your future driving!
