As National Leadership Day approaches on February 20th, we at Herts Ability take this opportunity to celebrate the exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication of our team. From our Chief Executive Officer to our driving assessors, administrative staff, and occupational therapists, each member plays a pivotal role in empowering our clients to regain their independence through driving.
Sean Lawrence: Steering the Vision
At the helm of Herts Ability is our Chief Executive Officer, Sean Lawrence. Sean’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in expanding our services and reaching a broader community. Under his guidance, we’ve seen a remarkable 68% increase in driving lessons since 2021 and a 50% rise in driving assessments since 2017. Sean’s commitment to excellence ensures that our clients receive the highest standard of support on their journey to independence.

Driving Assessors: Navigating the Path to Independence
Our team of driving assessors, including professionals like Lead Driving Assessor James are the cornerstone of our client services. James’s outstanding contributions were recognised with the ‘Greatest Contribution to Driving Mobility‘ award in 2023. Our assessors work diligently to evaluate each client’s unique needs, providing personalised guidance and support. Their expertise has enabled so many of our clients to return to driving – a testament to their dedication and skill.
Administrative Team: The Backbone of Our Operations
Behind every successful assessment and lesson is our efficient administrative team. Team members like Driving Centre Administrators David and Julie ensure that our operations run smoothly, coordinating appointments and managing client communications with precision. Their organisational prowess allows our frontline staff to focus on delivering exceptional service, making the client experience seamless and supportive.

Occupational Therapists: Bridging Challenges with Solutions
Our occupational therapists bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to our team. They work closely with clients to assess and address physical or cognitive challenges that may impact driving abilities. Through tailored interventions and adaptive strategies, they empower clients to overcome obstacles, fostering confidence and autonomy on the road.
A Unified Team Driving Change
The synergy between our leadership, assessors, administrative staff, and therapists creates a holistic support system for our clients. This collaborative spirit has been exemplified by the amount of awards we have won for our services over the years – highlighting our commitment to excellence and innovation.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate National Leadership Day, we reaffirm our dedication to providing exceptional service to our community. With a team driven by passion and guided by strong leadership, Herts Ability will continue to pave the way for individuals seeking to regain their independence through driving.
To our clients, partners, and supporters – thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we are driving change and fostering a more inclusive society.
