Celebrating International Day of Charity with Herts Ability

Every year on September 5th, we celebrate the International Day of Charity, a day dedicated to recognising the critical role that charity plays in alleviating humanitarian crises and human suffering. At Herts Ability, this day holds special significance as it aligns with our mission to support and empower individuals with disabilities across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, London and surrounding areas.

The Importance of Charity

Charity transcends mere acts of giving; it is a profound expression of solidarity and compassion towards those in need. The International Day of Charity serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to foster a more inclusive and equitable society. This year, as we reflect on the impact of charitable organisations worldwide, we also celebrate the strides made by Herts Ability in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities!

Herts Ability: Empowering Lives

At Herts Ability, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive support services that enable people with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives – both on the road and in the home.

Our initiatives range from mobility and driving assessments to theory test support, ensuring that individuals receive personalised assistance tailored to their unique needs.

One of our core services is the driving assessment, where we evaluate and support individuals who wish to gain or retain their driving independence. Through specialised assessments and training, we help people overcome physical and cognitive challenges to achieve their driving goals, thereby enhancing their mobility and freedom.

Stories of Impact

On this International Day of Charity, we are proud to share stories of individuals whose lives have been transformed through our services:

  1. Alfie’s Journey to Independence: Meet Alfie, a resilient individual who had a brain tumour and a stroke in 2021, leading to challenges like fatigue, reduced attention, slower processing speed, executive function difficulties, left-sided weakness, and ataxia. Despite these obstacles, Alfie’s determination never wavered!
  2. Theory Test Support for George: George and his family approached Herts Ability for support with driving and learning to drive. Following a brief assessment, he joined the Herts ability Driving School and theory test workshop with Lead Assessor James. Click here to see how we were able to assist.
  3. Milly’s Marvellous Achievement: Massive congrats to our client, Milly, who is one step closer to her goal of driving independence thanks to the tuition and vehicle adaptations provided by Herts Ability on our private test track in Harlow! Read her success story here.
