Celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025 with Herts Ability

Herts Ability is proud to support Neurodiversity Celebration Week from 17th to 23rd March 2025! This global initiative challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences, aiming to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported. By providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, we can create more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.

Our Commitment to Neurodiverse Individuals

At Herts Ability, we are dedicated to helping neurodiverse individuals gain the independence that a driving licence brings. We offer tailored driving lessons alongside theory test support to help you navigate and pass the two tests set by the DVSA. Our team possesses unique skills to assist you in achieving your goals and provides honest, evidence-based opinions on the best way forward. Working alongside our Occupational Therapists, we have a deep understanding of neurodiverse conditions and always treat you as an individual with the care and respect you deserve.

Success Stories: Empowering Independence

We are delighted to share testimonials from our clients who have benefited from our services:

Laura Hood, diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, shares her experience:

“Being a wheelchair user, independence isn’t easy. The whole team at Herts Ability is friendly, helpful, and patient – just what I need. If in doubt, get in touch with Herts Ability – they’re the team to help you!”

Collaborations and Community Engagement

Herts Ability is committed to community engagement and collaboration. We have partnered with organisations like ADD-vance – ADHD & Autism Trust, a charity that supports young people with ADHD and autism. They have a dedicated webpage offering our services, which you can find here.

We also cherish memories like our collaboration with Lonsdale School in Stevenage, where a group of pupils with a wide range of abilities received driving and theory test support from Herts Ability. Our Lead Driving Instructor, James, made several visits to the school, demonstrating an adapted car, checking eyesight for driving, and delivering essential theory test workshops. Students worked on signpost recognition, road markings, junctions, crossroads, and hazard perception. The most popular workshop was Hazard Perception, with students challenging themselves and competing against others to achieve the highest score.
