🚘 Our first assessment in East London was on the 22nd September 2022!
🚘 To date, we have conducted 147 driving and passenger assessments as well as our ongoing work with the Hub Mobility Mobility Advice Service, offering the local community transport advice.
🚘 We have three members of staff who work from our London centre: Mike (Driving Assessor) Sarah and Katie (Occupational Therapists).
🚘 Oh, and did we mention, the Herts Ability Leyton outreach – open every Tuesday and Wednesday – is the only London-based Driving Mobility Driving Centre! 👏

🗣 “Being a disability specialist driving instructor in London for 17 years, I understand how important it is for the registered 1.2 million disabled people in the capital to have an assessment centre that is not only local, but has the types of roads they are used to driving on.
I have worked for Herts Ability since 2019, and it has been an absolute pleasure helping the East London project become a mainstay.
I have had the pleasure of working with excellent Occupational Therapists Katie, Sarah and our suburb newbie Charis. All three are incredibly knowledgeable and kindhearted. In addition to great colleagues, it has been genuinely inspirational to assess and meet many people along the way.
Over the last year, we have had some fantastic highs. Seeing clients who lack self-confidence for many reasons come into the office and leave with humongous smiles brings a tear to our eyes!
As we advance, now we are in London to stay, we will expand our services to help everyone that needs us in London and the surrounding areas. Watch this space!”

We offer the same relaxed, friendly welcome to new staff members, too! In what can be a tough job at times, humour is essential and we enjoy a laugh in the office!”
