From Welwyn to Westminster: Herts Ability heads to the House of Lords!

It was our great pleasure to partake in our partner – Driving Mobility’s – event in Westminster on Wednesday 7th June!

Herts Ability CEO Sean Lawrence, Lead Occupational Therapist Wendy Valentine and Chairman Nigel Dotchin were in the capital to promote a new scooter/wheelchair retailer training scheme for mobility scooter retailers to ensure customer safety on the roads!

Attendees also included mobility product retailers, manufacturers and stakeholders from across the industry who met with ministers and dignitaries to launch the nationwide roll out of this new scheme!

Edward Trewhella, CEO at Driving Mobility, had this to say about the scheme: “Alongside the Department for Transport, we are aware that the way people are traveling is changing especially with increased ownership of mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs.

In response, we completed a successful pilot last year which underlined the need for a retailer training scheme.

Our launch is timely and promises to enhance road safety for all through more suitable mobility vehicle provision and greater awareness of the Highway Code.”

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering this training later this year… So watch this space!

Until then, we encourage all mobility scooter retailers to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity and participate in Driving Mobility’s training scheme.

Let’s drive mobility forward, together!
